Awards

The Lahore Literary Festival instituted its annual awards to honor Pakistanis who have devoted their lives to the arts and culture, and betterment of society. The awards are open to nominations from the public of authors, artists, performers, opinion leaders who have made enduring contributions to the enrichment of our shared cultural landscape. All nominations are screened and finalized by the LLF Board of Governors.

2017 Award | Feb. 25

  • Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Dr. Syed Adeeb-Ul-Hasan Rizvi of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) for his lifetime of unparalleled service to humanity in the field of medicine

2016 Awards | Feb. 20

  • Nancy Dupree for lifelong service and dedication to the preservation and promotion of culture and heritage
  • Mussarat Mirza for her lifelong dedication to the arts, presented by H.E. Jean-Francois Cautain, EU Ambassador to Pakistan
  • Kishwar Naheed for her lifelong service and dedication to the arts and culture

2015 Awards | Feb. 20

  • Zulfikar Ghose for his writing
  • H.E. Janan Mosazai, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, for fostering peace through culture

2014 Awards | Feb. 21

  • Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Fareeda Khanum
  • Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Zia Mohyeddin
  • Artist of the Year Award presented to Shahzia Sikander (in association with Bank Alfalah)
